Any cyclist with a bit of experience knows that top performance requires more than a weekly training routine.

Consider the circumstances. Optimum physical conditions and good materials are extremely important. Talent cannot be denied. Inspiration and concentration lead to flow - the perception of everything being effortless, exceeding your own expectations. With the CycleForce Flow, Tacx announces the start of a new generation of ergotrainers.

This trainer is the result of knowledge and inspiration, combined with innovation. Heart rate, power, speed and pedalling frequency are measured and visualised on the modern display on the Flow computer. These data provide an important instrument for targeting and improving physical fitness, efficiently - resulting in optimum performance. During development much attention focused on the information that appears on the display. The brake indicator, for example, shows brake performance in graphic form. A histogram shows the slope, enabling the cyclist to view the settings at a glance. Moreover, you can select the training information you want to display.

Another point of interest is the simple operation. By setting the power or slope resistance, you can adjust your program while training, to suit your own needs. You can even calibrate the brake to ensure accurate power measurements at all times. Flow comes with a matching-colour Skyliner front wheel support, which corrects the position of the bike ensuring a natural cycling posture.

To use the heart rate facility on this trainer, you will need to order a separate transmitter. We recommend the Polar T31 Transmitter/Electrode Belt Set - Non Coded

Hi all

Any-one joining upto next seasons BTA membership which starts 1st of April 2009 which nicely co-incides with the start of the Triathlon/duathlon season

If you enter races on-line at the moment you will benefit from reduced entry fees if you are a BTA member AT THE TIME OF THE RACE,

if they ask for a membership number enter a random number, I usually find my date of birth suffice!

Then that way you will be only charged the lower BTA member price.

Two points of note

You will need to join upto BTA (obviously) April 2009 or before your race

If you do not present your membership card on the day of the race you will be charged the difference by the organisors for a non member and signed up member

this is usually about £3

thanks Stuu

Good luck all

I know, I know it seems really early!

But I would advise everyone to sign up for next seasons races, a local race early on will give you a taste of triathlon action with the mimimum of travelling etc,

Personally i'd go for the shorter Tri's as they are a good intro to tri, with-out killing yourself in the process of gaining experience

followed by the opportunity to do some more Tri's later in the season (if you enjoyed the first one)

There are plenty of races you can enter now and some you can do it all including payment on-line such as the www.trihard website which is linked through the club's website.

They may not but full yet but come April/May, experience and previous dissapointment has shown they will fill up very quickly

Darlington tri is early so that seems perfect for newby members to try, good lucK all of you

I am looking for a trailer bike (i.e NOT a trailer) for my daughter to attach to my bike so she can ride along, and hopefully help with the triathlon training. If anyone has one that they no longer need, I can collect.

Thank you
