Wednesday Track Sessions

We train on the track at Eastbourne Sports Centre on Wednesday evenings at 6.15pm.This is a structured and fully coached session. This normally consists of a warm up, some running drills and a structured session typically about 5K in length.

Monday Road Session

We also have a coached club run session on Monday nights leaving at 18:30 from the Dolphin Centre reception in town. This session usually involves a short warm up and a structured session run either in the park or on the road.

Both sessions are suitable for all abilities – so feed free to turn up and give it a try.

UK Athletics Affiliation

Although many of our members are also in local running clubs you can affiliate to UK Athletics through Darlington Triathlon if you wish ( which gains you discount on UK Athletics races ) but this is totally optional. This also allows you to take part in the club ballot for a London Marathon Place.

Cross Country

We usually enter mens and ladies teams in the NYSD Cross Country race series (see Facebook page for details).

Swimming

Tuesdays at the Education Village Darlington is our main swim night, spread over
two hours from 6.30pm to 8.30pm all year round.Choose between 6.30-7.30 and
7.30-8.30. Both sessions are multi-ability and fully coached and lifeguarded.
You’ll find the second session quieter. If you want to turn up and try a session
please do – the reception desk will direct you to the pool and then let the session
coach know you are new.

The cost is £4 payable poolside. Please sign in before you swim. Please note, both sessions start promptly so make sure you are in the water in good time.

We also have Sunday swims at Longfield School pool out of race season, check the
facebook page to see when these are running

Each ride is approximately 20-30 km.Not all of the rides are coached.

2 May 19
16 May 19

Saturday Rides

Club members also often meet At Broken Scar Car park 8am (9am in Winter) Saturday mornings, this is also organised on our Facebook page so check for latest details. Please ensure you bring everything you will need for the maintenance of bike, food and drink for on the bike and a small amount a cash if there is a coffee stop. Please note everyone is responsible for their own safety.

Each ride usually lasts between 2 and 4 hours (from 20 to 40 miles), for the longer rides we will aim to have a café stop to refuel so everyone makes it back together!

There are usually two groups (numbers dependant) to cater for faster/slower paces.

We show good bike etiquette, making sure new members are supported – and don’t leave anyone behind.
