2018 TEESDALE TRIATHLON NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES
Well done to our award winners at the end of another headline-grabbing season for our members.
We had a wonderful night at our annual awards party at Blackwell Grange. It was a close thing in several of the categories, but take a bow the following award winners:
FEMALE TRIATHLETE OF THE YEAR – Zoe Mackay
MALE TRIATHLETE OF THE YEAR – Neil Smith
MOST IMPROVED TRIATHLETE OF THE YEAR – Alan Mackay
In addition, Zoe picked up her second shield of the night when she was named as Club Service Award winner for all her hard work helping to ensure our club race, the Teesdale Triathlon, went so smoothly.
Thanks to all our competitors for another fantastic race and thanks to all our super volunteers for doing the club proud as always!
We’re delighted to announce that we are staging our very first GO TRI starter aquathlon event at the Education Village on Tuesday September 5.
GO TRI is a great way to learn about triathlon in a friendly, supportive environment and this event has been designed specifically to help those who are new to our sport.
This aquathlon starter event consists of a 200m swim (eight lengths of the pool) followed by a 2k run within the grounds of the Education Village. We have kept the entry fee down to just £6, just enough to cover our costs.
Our coaches will be on hand on the night to give advice about triathlon and we will demonstration bike racking.
GO TRI starts at 6.45pm, with registration at 6pm. Please follow the link below to enter:
Please note, we have now filled all 160 places for the Teesdale Triathlon on September 24 2017. Many thanks for your support.
Don’t delay if you are planning to enter the 2017 Teesdale Triathlon on Sunday September 24 as all 160 places for this year’s race are expected to fill soon.

What a fantastic turn-out from the club at Ripon . . . with some wonderful results, too.
In the standard distance race, Neil S (2:25:29) just edged Colin T, who finished 323rd in 2:27:05. Next in was club coach Donna, who finished fifth in cat with 2:32:23. There was little time separating Michael G (2:37:10, PB), Jo S (2:39:43), Michelle Mac (2:45:20), Pauline P (2:47:53, 10th in cat), Diane J (2:49:23, PB), Zoe Mac (2:49:53, PB), and Micky B (2:53:13).
Coming in just over the 3hrs mark was Chris L (3:00:50) and following him were Emma (3:05:24), Kelly (3:07:54), John Mac (3:09:29 – having stopped on the bike course), Alan Mac (3:13:01) and Katherine B (3:27:16).
In the sprint race, congratulations to Rachel J, who was first in cat in 1:25:36. We also saw some impressive results from the juniors, notably Daniel Boyer (first in cat), David Smith (second in cat) and Jeremy Roberts.
At the Lakesman Ironman-distance-race, Neil S was delighted to edge under 11 hours in only his second race at this distance, clocking 10:56 for 17th place overall and second in his age group.
Jo S also had a great day, finishing fourth lady in the excellent time of 11:47. Congratulations, too, to Zoe Mac, who came home in 14:04:55 to complete her first Ironman-distance race. All three received great support from club members around the course.
Also well done to John Mac, who finished in 14:43.
At the the Cleveland Short Course race from Ellerton, there was little to choose between Andy S and Mark W, who both put in excellent performances. Andy came home fourth in cat in 2:25:11 and Mark was just seconds behind in 2:26:53.
Garmo was our sole representative in the Leeds Triathlon, coming home in a swift 2:44:00.
