Sunderland Aquatics Centre Saturday Dec 6

Please meet outside this facility at 12.15pm for a 12.30pm tour followed by a swim in the 50m pool and snacks in the cafe. It would be nice to do a pic so get those DTC T-shirts out! Phil has rustled up a little session just to keep us interested.

The Aquatics Centre is next to the Stadium of Light (Sunderland AFC) and is best approached from the A1231 off the A19, just follow signs for Stadium of Light). There is ample parking.

Sunday swim at Branksome, Dec 7

As you may be aware, we have another “away day” this weekend as unfortunately we do not have a certified chlorine checker available for Longfield. Everyone who came to Branksome School last time was really impressed, so don’t miss out on this excellent facility.

As it is a bigger pool, we can condense it into two sessions:

5-6pm Intermediate/advanced

6-7pm Development

There will also be an opportunity for a run. The fee stays at £2.

First spinning session @ Dolphin Centre Wednesday Dec 10

A lot of interest in this so we have decided to get underway next week. Please note the revised time of 7.30pm-8.30pm at the Dolphin Centre. These sessions will be held every Wednesday (except Christmas and New Year weeks). They are being funded by the club and we need 15-16 members to break even each week.

The fee is £3, payable to the club. Please give them your support. Richard will lead the sessions.

Christmas party Friday Dec 12

Still a handful of people who have not paid Shirley. May we request payment asap.

Inaugral AGM - Date Change

Please note that this will be held at the Travellers Rest, Cockerton, on Monday January 19 at 7pm. There will be a buffet. More details later. Thanks to Shirley for the arrangements.

“Swim the channel” with DarlingtonTri

That’s the challenge being thrown down by John J who is asking whether members would be interested in swimming the equivalent of the Channel at Haughton Education Village pool early in the New Year. The idea is that we get 21 members to do a mile each. More details later but expressions of interest welcome.

Might be a nice try-out for the Haughton pool.

No formal bike session this weekend

With the Sunderland visit in mind, there will be no formal ride this Saturday. But feel free of course to make your own arrangements if you are not coming to the Aquatics Centre.

Good training and see you at Sunderland on Saturday
