TEESDALE TRIATHLON ANOTHER BIG SUCCESS
Great to see club members doing so well at our club race, the Teesdale Triathlon, with several tackling the event for the first time.
We had another full entry list for this popular triathlon, with Race Organiser Brian making sure everything ran like clockwork.
Tom followed up from a strong race at Helvellyn to finish 11th overall in a time of 1:22:21. Zoe was thrilled to get in the age-group prizes with 71st place overall and a time of 1:41:38.
Jason H was another member well up the field, finishing 38th in 1:34:06, and another new member, Mark S, finished a magnificent 20th overall.
Also well done to David, who finished 89th in 1:47:35.
It was also good to see race referee Vicky post a very complimentary report about the event and highlighting its excellent organisation.
Teesdale Triathlon 2015 Results
Following another fantastically well supported and successful club race yesterday, we are now pleased to post the results. Congratulations to all 124 finishers!
COLIN AND MICHELLE ARE CLUB CHAMPIONS
Many congratulations to our new male and female club champions, Colin and Michelle, plus all our other members – senior and junior – who took part in a club record turnout at the Ripon Tri.
Colin has been flying all season. One of the fastest runners locally, he has worked really hard on the bike and swim and crossed the line at Ripon in the great time of 2 hrs 28 mins 31 secs.
And what can we say about Michelle? She’s battled back from two knee operations that would have floored less determined individuals and put in a fabulous performance in her comeback race to finish in 2:50:10.
We had 43 triathletes out on the course in the senior and junior individual races and relays, a fantastic turnout.
We can safely say we made our presence felt! Everyone really got into the spirit of things at the racecourse where the weather stayed perfect for camping.
And from the video we’ve seen posted on FB, it looks like we won the dance-off, too!

BRYAN SHOWS MEMBERS HOW TO PREVENT INJURIES
A big thanks to Bryan English, Head of Sports Medicine at Middlesbrough Football Club, for his injury prevention session at Rockliffe Hall training ground.
Bryan, a club member and active triathlete, demonstrated drills and gave tips on how to avoid the most common lower-limb injuries using a range of simple equipment.
We’d also like to thank Middlesbrough FC for allowing us to use their facilities.
NEIL’S ON HIS WAY TO KONA
Massive congratulations to Neil McLoughlin who has achieved a lifetime’s
ambition by qualifying for the World Ironman Championships at Kona,
Neil has spent 20 years chasing his dream and qualified in the recent South
African Ironman Championships at Port Elizabeth, where he clocked an
impressive 10 hrs 32 mins.
Showing perfect pacing, he was only 35th in age group after the sea swim
but moved up to 10th after the bike leg and then ran a 3:30 marathon to
finish fourth in AG and nail that all-important qualifying spot.
Well done, Neil.
